Did better about being up too late last night. Did not manage the 10:30 curfew, but I was off the phone by 11.

Had a very quiet day yesterday. Slept in, knitted and chatted online, did a load of laundry, made a couple of phone calls. (Note to self: try to call Mom tonight, since she didn't answer the phone yesterday.)

Discovered a knitting tragedy yesterday afternoon. Pulled out the superfine lily of the valley shawl to work on it, and found that moths had been (a) into the cone of yarn, though not very far, and (b) two moth holes in the lace itself, in tricky enough places I just couldn't fix it. So, I cut it off and will start the thing over. Again. I want that shawl.

Finished Branching Out yesterday afternoon; will wait to block it until I have blocking wires. By thinks he can make me a set. Started a lace hanky (I know, completely frivolous, but it looks and feels good) with the leftover Zephyr--that's onto the edging already.

Have one of By's kilt hose done to where I need to have him try it on again. Note to self #2: put live sts on some yarn this time. Too many mix-ups, doing it without that. The second sock is about 1.5" from that point. Still on the first skein of yarn for each sock, so I may squeek these by on 3 skeins.

Started planning cables for a set of kilt hose for a friend. Am thinking about using this cabled tree (scroll down to second pic) if I can get the stitch counts to work, and if the friend in question doesn't mind something that non-traditional on his hose.

Let's see...other news. Not really. Other than, I walked in to work smiling this morning, and the boss is afraid. *grin*

A modestly accomplished day, so far. Got nutsedge sprayed...we hatesss it, preciousss, yesss we do...um. yeah. Sprayed nutsedge, loaned tools to Donna at the greenhouse, found her a thistle plant for her weed class (but not, I think, the one she was looking for), and hand-pulled some weeds. *grin* Oh, and a short (for us, very short) phone call to Boyfriend, who has today off, lucky bastard.

Note to self: don't forget to steal a piece of hydrangea from the student center to send in to Robyn tomorrow.

So much for the good mood, which lasted through the morning's spraying and weed pulling, but was overcome by the first branch I cut with the pole saw. Ok, actually, it was the sawdust from said branch, which ALWAYS drifts into places sawdust just shouldn't be. Hard to be cheerful with sawdust in your bra.

Have half-filled a 20-yd dumpster, off of one tree (still not finished), using just a person-powered pole saw. Go me!

edit, 4:09 pm I finished filling the dumpster on the second tree. Still just a person-powered pole saw and loppers. Go me!

(Yes, still have sawdust in bra. **sigh**)
