a long week, and it's only half over
Apr. 16th, 2004 07:07 amSpent most of yesterday spinning my wheels, working on a research project for Maintenance Director. Only, he doesn't know what exactly I'm supposed to be looking for, and he won't tell me WHY I'm looking, because it's a secret they're announcing next week. Argh. I'll be at it most of today, too. AND, if I find enough info to make him happy, I'm coming in on Monday to work on it, because it absolutely as to be done by Tuesday. This sucks.
Rehearsal was ok last night....Judy has officially quit, Betty says she was bored. Oh, well. Mostly we worked on three Sousa pieces--yes, Sousa for recorders. It's not as scary as it sounds, to play or to listen to. Betty's wanting to do a "150 years of music" for some city history day in July, and she's started preparing early for a change.
The Sock Report: there is no sock report. By's socks still aren't done yet.
The UnSock Report: After class Wed night, I'd ripped out the bird's eye lace I'd started months and months ago. It was mostly a stitch practice thing, and it was a hard pattern to remember. It's on it's way to becoming a square shawl, worked in rounds. The center is eyelet diamonds on a stockingette ground, nothing fancy, easy to pick up and put down. I'll probably to a block of plain stockingette next, to set off the center, and to give me time to plan ahead for the next bit.
