Dec. 14th, 2003 07:53 amI'm ready for my holiday break--after last week, I need it. Yesterday was No Fun. My feet were wet--and cold--30 minutes after I got to work, and stayed that way until I got home. Shovelled stairs and handicapped access for 3 hours, spent the rest of the day on inner campus running a broom with no heater, and gaps under the pedals (and thus, under my feet).
The good news was it stopped snowing around noon, and that gave us a chance to catch up, so I didn't have to stay late. And the roads were good coming home, the usual 30-min drive (rather than the hour-plus it took to get there in the morning).
Been too tired to do anything artsy or string-related this week, very frustrating. Got about 2" done on the Greco-Turkish socks last night, a good afternoon's knitting ought to see the first sock finished. Rested my hands by working on the grey Pi shawl, got 6 rounds done on it (288 sts around, so 6 rnds is a lot). Been surfing and playing with the bird's eye lace pattern this morning--the string monkeys on my back are nearly sated, so I might be able to get other things done now.
By got 3 new shelves installed in the blanket closet yesterday, and set up the DVD/video shelf in the living room, and the first part of the free-standing paperback bookcase in the bedroom (which will become the library, someday). And laundry. Bless that man.
The kittens think that the freestanding bookcase (which doesn't have a backing yet) is a big toy, put there for their amusement. They spent an hour this morning on different shelves, chasing each other's tails, and snatching at the other cats (and us humans) as they walked by.
Concert this afternoon, at the Carroll Mansion in Leavenworth. Ought to practice some this morning, since I missed rehearsal this week.
