I guess the insurance adjuster didn't get to my car yesterday, so we're still waiting. Monday, they say now.

No real news yesterday--a very slow day at work; lots of phone calls for By's birthday....btw, happy birthday, hon.

I'm having a lot of trouble motivating myself to work today, but that's okay, because D (the other full-time Sat person) was later than I, and plans to do less today, and I think the boss is going to nap in his air-conditioned office all day. There are worse ways to spend a Sat at work.

Didn't finish the aran sandal socks like I had hoped to. Sore fingertips (bruised from the bambicide incident) make it hard to knit quickly. Maybe today, I've only got 3/4" before the toe shaping.

Did a little yarn shopping after work. [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat, it's all your fault! I'd just stopped at Hobby Lobby for TWO skeins of yarn, for your socks, that was all. One off white, one black. I left with those two, plus six more skeins off the clearance table--royal blue and Ranj green, and one labelled "blueberry twist". *shakes head* Can we say "addict"? Ah, well. Looks like I'll be knitting blue and green socks for myself, and maybe By, in the near future. Not sure what I'm going to do with the "blueberry twist" skein, probably socks, but it was just too neat not to buy.

Also got some beads and lobster clasps--By's mom had told me about a set of stitch markers she'd made for herself, out of lobster clasps and head pins and beads. So naturally, I must try this for myself. Making cool tools and toys to use in my needlework is almost as much fun as doing the needlework.

Finally.

Still need to graft the toe together, but that's a bit too fiddly to pick and put down every five minutes.

Next stop: green spiral rib socks in Woolease Sport.

I am sooooooo bored today.

Productive day, knitting-wise. Finished the tied-up tee, except for the laces. I started to lucet the laces, but that yarn is too stiff to lucet nicely, so I'm going to follow the pattern and do the laces in I-cord. Simple, fairly quick. Now if the weather will just cool down enough to wear said sweater......

Today made up for Thursdays' misadventures--finished two projects, pleasant company and conversation over a yummy dinner, sex (woo hoo!), and quiet music and a Byron-special mixed drink* to slow my mind down. Truly lovely.

*The new recipe....Sprite, honey liqueur, and a touch of creme de menthe, to cut the syrupy sweetness of the honey liqueur. I know it sounds strange, but it's very nice. I'm going to go read now and finish mine.
