The sock report
Feb. 25th, 2003 08:02 amFinished the first alpaca sock, after a near-disaster with the bind off. Got the bind off too tight the first time, had to undo it--eeek! That alpaca is damn slippery for a fuzzy yarn. And the more you handle it, the fuzzier it gets. Just finished the toe shaping on the second.
Got the foot done on the blue star Turkish socks while By & I were running around Lawrence Sunday. (Recycling, odds & ends shopping, lunch watching it snow outside, Dusty Bookshelf--good way to spend the afternoon.)
Did start *and finish* a small knitted doily last night. I needed a break from the alpaca texture. (Yes, it counts as a break--it's smaller thread, but larger needles, no harder to hold on to.)
Spent hours last night digging for a pattern I set aside over a year ago. See, it's a sweater, I'm over hald done with the back, and I can't remember the shaping details. Argh. And I need to finish it and get it off the needles, so I can use those needles for something else.
I'm thinking no-snow thoughts for tomorrow. I just don't want to mess with it at work next week.
