Three simple books
Oct. 19th, 2004 10:23 am
5 1/2" wide x 8 11/16" long x 3/16" deep (including covers). 40 pages. Text block is 8 1/2 x 11" ivory linen-textured paper scrounged from the dumpster at work, with endpaper and flypages in a grey-toned linen paper. Cover is cardstock covered in a pale blue flecked paper (once again, dumpster-diving), and the blue-violet fabric on the spine is leftover from SCA sewing years and years ago.
This one is from a set of instructions I found online. The site recommended sewing with only 3 holes; I'm going to try 5 next time, 3 doesn't seem that secure. But it's a nice little book, otherwise. And I'm going to iron and starch the spine fabric first next time, I'm sure that'll make it easier to handle.

I got this idea from a pic posted on
Both are 2 3/4" tall x 2 1/2" wide x 3/8" deep (including covers)for the blue and purple one, and 5/16" deep for the all-purple one. Text blocks are a fairly stiff almost-cardstock I found in the dumpster (in strips conveniently 2 2/3" tall). Covers are parts of leftover advertising posters from Lyric Opera's production of "A Midsummer Night's Dream", given to me by

The text block is under the flap at the top of the picture.
