"Eeeewwwwww......what you're smelling is burnt dead mouse."

Byron, as he peeks inside the oven, afeter setting it to preheat for our dinner tonight. Our best guess is that the mouse was chased down into the burner, and went into the oven, where it got stuck under on the heating elements.

And, for the record, burnt mouse smells like burnt hair.

Very. On the other hand, we figured that, at the temps we were cooking diner, the inside of the oven was probably sterilized.

oh, a very happy thing to have found the mouse BEFORE the cooking of dinner... imagining the alternative is even less appetizing.

Oh yeah. That thought did cross my mind. Although, with the smell, it would have been hard to NOT find it before the cooking of dinner.
