The sock report
Mar. 22nd, 2003 07:00 amSpent some time yesterday afternoon designing a pair of Turkish socks for a friend. He's got largish feet, so I've got lots of room to play with. I found a Persian rug website, with explained the meanings of a bunch of the mitofs used in the weavings; similar motifs are used in the traditional socks. Though it'd be fun to do a pair of socks that said something besides "HEY!! I'M OVER HERE!" (This pair will be BRIGHT green and yellow--heraldic colors.)
Got the first of Robyn's socks up to about 1/2" form the top. It ought to be finished tonight. Then pick up the second one again. I'd like to do the heels at the same time, so they're identical.
I need to start the second blue star sock. I'm looking forward to wearing that pair.
I guess, since it's spring now, I should start dong more warm-weather socks. I've got a nice cotton yarn I think will do the job nicely; I just need to empty some needles so I can do a gauge swatch.
