Another long week
Dec. 15th, 2004 07:12 amI went to bed at 11:30 last night, I have no idea what time By finished in the garage and came to bed. Later than that, anyway. Nothing like starting the week out with a big meeting and short of sleep.
Frank called last night saying he was in Manhattan, and would be staying there for a couple of days to do some temp work. Fine, that'll give him money to buy his own groceries.
I was sneaky last night. By's folks had asked for the Xmas wishlist, as usual, and By had sent them a book list, as usual. Mom wanted authors and publishers, so I took the liberty of posing as By and sending her that list. Make sure we get what we want, that way. Eep. Forgot to tell By this morning that I'd done that. *crosses fingers* Hope he doesn't reply to Mom's email too.
This week's agenda includes rehearsal tomorrow night, By's show Friday night (must remember to ask him what he wants me to wear), and a performance with the recorder group on Sunday. That's the last recorder thing scheduled until mid-January. And I've got to call Mom and my sister sometime in there, and figure out what our holiday schedule is going to be. Couldn't call Mom last night, that's her quilting class night, tonight's church, and I've got stuff the rest of the week. Gak. May just call Sis and have *her* call Mom.
The Sock Report: Ended up getting the first of the Very Tall Socks almost done, and ripping it out to 4" above the ankle because the ankle didn't fit right. When I put it down last night, I'd reworked down to the heel flap and had finished turning the heel. Again. Makes me wonder about the person who wrote the pattern....she looks fairly slim in the picture, but I'm working to her gauge (if she measured it right), in a slightly lighter yarn than she used, and the socks are still coming out large in places. Odd.
I've made enough changes to the pattern I've started writing it up for posterity. I'll post it once I finish a sock, and get a little time to clean up my notes.
