Friday visuals, and other distractions
Oct. 15th, 2010 03:54 pmFirst, from yesterday's Botany Photo Of The Day, Acer henryi, and it's really cool chain of winged seeds, unusual for maples. Wonder if it'll grow here. I think I might need one.
Second, silliness from theonering.net
Third, from one of the feeds I've been reading lately, the ultimate baby cuteness in the form of a photoblog, by a mother taking creative pictures while her wee one naps. The cute, it burns!
Ran the monsters around the yard yesterday, and got 2 packages of hyacinths planted. City of Harlem (pale yellow) went near the tadpole pond and the path to the herb shed. Gipsy Queen (rosy orange) went up in my altar area, where it should compliment the delusions-of-pink and white daffs. And big lavender alliums. I ought to get another of those. I've got some space, since I moved that clump of yellow daisies back in July.
Not much fibery news, been chasing kidlets instead. Did just finish a knitted petticoat for the cloth dolls, in ivory cotton, now with written pattern (yay!). That goes under the autumn-leaf orange dress with lace skirt, also in fine cotton. Because 12 sts/inch just isn't scary anymore.
Tonight's agenda includes filling a last box of outgrown kids' clothes to send in with By in the morning, for one of his coworkers, and raking cheerios out of the living room carpet.
