* Lowe's delivered the siding for the house yesterday. Yes, Sunday. We're using By's folks' commercial account to order supplies, and they'll deliver on Sundays for commercial accounts. Which was very helpful this week; otherwise they'd have delivered while By was gone. Now we just have to get the work crew to come back (haven't been here for two weeks) and get something done.

* By's off for a 3-day trip to Louisiana with his boss, to learn to use the fancy new laser welder their shop is getting. He left at 7am, and will be back Wed afternoon, at which point I will hand him the kids and go hide for a while. I'm on my own with the monsters until then.

* Sis got the keys to her new place and a bunch of stuff moved over the weekend. She's pretty excited about the move now--more space, a bathroom to herself, more space.....And her current landlady has already started moving her sister's stuff to town, and has started piling it in the garage on top of Sis's things. Sis is pretty annoyed about that, but isn't going to complain since she's on her way out.

* The kids are still crashed; I'm going to let them sleep until 9 then wake them. I'm going to try some changes to their routine while By's gone, see if I can get some things started. Like getting The Bug to sleep in the big crib back in The Miss's room, instead on in the pack-n-play that's been too small for him for months. And The Miss and I are going to start "school" a couple times a day, numbers and letters and stuff.

The Sock Report: nearly done with the first of the knee-high socks for The Miss. Which means I need to make up my mind about how I'm going to finish the top, so I can put a bit of elastic in to keep them up. The original, adult-sized pattern I'm working from is not that tall, and finished with a few rows of garter stitch. And that might be easiest. She's growing so fast lately I probably shouldn't try to design these with a second years' wear in mind.

Of course, this is the sort of day where, if By were merely at work, and not out of state, I'd be seriously thinking about calling him and telling him to come get his #*($& children.

Maybe they'll be more cooperative post-nap.....

He's figured out how to take the tray off The Miss's high chair, so that he can clamber up into it and from there access everything on the pantry counter. Turning the high chair to face the wall only stopped him for about 3 hours; he's plenty strong enough to drag the chair around to face front. Arg.
