Not planning on doing much today, because my back hurts from driving the water truck (something about sitting at the edge of the seat to reach the gas pedal, and trying to keep my chest off the steering wheel). Will spend some time in one of the other trucks this morning, checking flower beds, moving sprinklers, and generally enjoying a more comfortable seat.

By's working for Robyn today...he's going to start working for her part time, to get inventory ready for the plaza art show.

By's birthday present (his b-day is Sunday) from his folks arrived last night...neon-orange tie-down straps, work jeans, and a couple of long-sleeved work shirts. Just what he asked for. And 3 balls of sock yarn, a few cards of embroidery thread, and 4 balls of other yarn for me, becuase they filled up the box, and By's mom is that way :)

My yarn from discountyarnsale.com is supposed to be here this afternoon. Yay!

I took the shawl in wool singles (you remember, the really fine, difficult looking one) to rehearsal last night. Betty thinks I'm crazy. Funny how the reaction to that piece has consistently been "wow" followed by "you're nuts". Are my frieds trying to tell me something?

I decided last night we're keeping F. He had food waiting for me when I got out of the shower, so I wouldn't have to rush around before rehearsal.

Filling the water truck again. Just finished my lunch, have another 15-20 minutes to wait on the truck. Very exciting today.

Haven't done anything on the socks today; been working on my "emergency stash" project that I'd tossed in the car yesterday. It's a lap afghan, worked from the center out (it'll be square when it's done), in whatever texture patterns I can remember at the time. Feather and fan, at the moment. Did a band in a rust colored yarn with purl-st ridges, now I'm doing a band in the same pattern without ridges, in a rich dark red. Faster to work, without the ridges. May switch to the sock for the second tank of water...I could have the heel done that way, and make decent progress on the leg of the sock.

Half thinking about calling in sock tomorrow. The boss will be gone, for one thing; for another, my back has ached for two days. Staying home and sitting in my computer chair with good back support sounds very very attractive. Then there's that new yarn that's supposed to arrive today. I could very cheerfully spend a stolen Saturday at home, knitting new yarn into lace thigh-hi's.

Truck's still not full yet. What else to I have to babble about? Not much. Guess you'll have to go read something else then.
