and we only have an inch or so of snow, I am relaxing to enjoy a weekend holed up with my crafts and the movies we rented last night. "Elizabeth" is playing right now, already watched "Underworld" (which we own) and "Midsummer Night's Dream" today. We also got a shoot-em-up for By (can't remember the name), and.....I've forgotten the last one we got. Oh...Moulan Rouge. That's it.

Finished binding the cd books I had pages cut for, so I've got 14 done, I think. Plus the first two that I did for By. The goal is a box full, for gifts and treats for people I know. One blank book, with 6 pages--makes the thing a bit harder to manage, but the pages were thicker than the usual paper I've been using. Four with the cardboard covers instead of cd covers....those are easier to glue up, but have to be pressed flat after glueing, or the covers want to warp.

I dug out some of the stuff I'd done years ago....pages folded for a simple Japanese binding, poems in calligraphy with simple ornaments, and I'd lacked the courage to bind them after I'd put that much time into the calligraphy. But now, I think I'm going to. One of the one's I'd put a date on says Oct 2000.....yikes. Definitely needs finishing.

We'd done our weekend running last night, in case the weather got as bad as the forecasters had been predicting. While in Hobby Lobby in Lawrence, a group of people stopped me, complimented my cape (the Japanese kimono coat I wear), and wanted to know if By and I were reenactors of some sort. I smiled, said yes, we used to be SCA, and what gave it away? One of the gentlemen in the group ticked off, in this order, the way we carried ourselves, our hair length, and By's facial hair. Oh, and then, lastly, the coats.

I'm still trying to figure out what they meant by "the way you carry yourselves".

Thoughts?
