Just met with a guy from the City of Overland Park about the weed complaint that had been filed, apparently, against our prairie research area on campus. Duh. It's been there about as long as th neighbor who complained; who knows what got him riled up this time.
Anyway, the city guy drove out, looked at it, said yup, that's not weeds, don't worry about it, and left. All done. Ought to make the boss's Friday.
(I must admit, standing in at the curb of the neighbor's house, looking between the homes, it does look like a great patch of tall grass and weeds up to his back fence. It's not until you get to the fence that you realize the prairie area is more that 50 feet from his fence.)
It's cold, and dreary, and none of us want to work today. My knees hurt all day yesterday, and still hurt today. This is the part I dislike about being over 30.
I wonder if I can get away with cleaning ironweed seeds the rest of the morning, rather than going out to actually work.
