Greatly enjoyed yesterday's down time. Got a few responsible adult things done (laundry, etc). Started and mostly finished a rearranging project: pulled a wooden chest out of the closet, one of our SCA relics, emptied all the assorted cutlery and other SCA-ish things out of it into a different bin, wiped the chest clean, and moved my knit shawls into the chest. (It shuts tighter than the plastic bin I'd been keeping them in, and well, just looks cooler.) Sewed a PILE of bags stuffed with cedar shavings to go between the shawls, still want to do another 5-6, maybe more. While we were talking about where to put the newly refilled chest, By suggested using it to replace the ratty old coffee table that Frank left with us.

Got little bits of knitting done, depending on where I sat down when I was on the phone. So, a couple of rows on the shawl I'm doing for one mom-to-be, a couple of rows on the afghan, and a few rows of edging on the Pi Are Square shawl. (By the way, what possessed me to do a 30+ st wide edging on that silly thing???? Gods above and below, that's slow. Ah, yes, that's right, because it looks good. Silly human.)

Work's going to be interesting for a while. Two meetings this afternoon, and I probably need to make some time to have a little talk with my boss. Seems Nemesis has changed his focus from trying to make me look really bad, to trying to outright sabotage New Boss, and now trying to play us against each other. Nemesis told New Boss that the ass-chewing I gave New Boss last week, about the project he'd dropped, was my trying to "get him." *sigh* I really need out of this department.

Look on the bright side, I guess...the meetings will be in the AC. Won't help much with the sleep dep, but will improve my mood somewhat.

Before I forget, Tristan, you'll find this amusing: Possible TMI )

To all the folks who were, rightly so, up in arms about the recent Supreme Court decision about eminent domain, check this out. Dunno if it's serious or not, but it makes me smile nonetheless.

Yes, yes, I am working. Or, I was working, but Courtney had to run an errand, and I'm taking a much-needed cool-off break.

Anyway, for the folk-tales and Tolkien buffs among you, here is part of the Kalevala online. Wow.
