Meant to post this last night...

...but I got distracted by all the phone calls.

Anyway, the good news is I'm moving over to the greenhouse at my current rate of pay. That's all kinds of good news. The somewhat inconvenient news is they're not going to let me work 40-in-4 over there, so I'll have to get used to working 5 days a week again.

Yay! pay wise, and now it just means you get to work a normal week like the rest of us :P

Not entirely a normal week. I'm on a Tues - Sat shift, so I still get to stay home and gloat about not going to work on Monday morning.

Yes, but we will be able to gloat about having our Saturdays, so it all works out ;-)

I have LOTS of vacation time, Saturdays could be arranged as needed. So there. :P

Don't stick that tounge out unless.... ;-)

Shouldn't you be working?

(And I am, by the way. I'm clearing out duplicate files and non-work files from my folders on the computer. Very, very necessary.)

I keep telling you I multi-task VERY well ;-)

Any chance that this will translate into more sleep (or sex)?

[identity profile] treeskin.livejournal.com 2005-09-29 01:39 pm (UTC)(link)
An hour or so (of either)--I'll probably do 8am-4:30pm most of the time, so I'll be able to sleep in until 6:00-6:30. The schedule's flexible; Donna doesn't care, as long as I'm in when I say I'm going to be in, and put in my time.

Like this will be an issue. You get to go into a WARM heated greenhouse and play with plants all winter. With no snow detail, and no calls in the middle of the night to come scrape the sidewalks so the prissy secretaries don't scuff their shoes as the go in in the morning.

More of an issue as things rev up for the plant sale, and into summer, when some activities will need done before the heat of the day.

"No more snow removal" has become the phrase of the week. When anyone outside the department asks me about the job change, and why I'd want to leave grounds, that's the simplest and most easily understood explanation.
