General updates
I'm at work today. Blech. I'm swapping today for Sat, so I don't have to take vacation to play my first gig with the Recorder Consort. Too wet to do much this morning (or at least, too wet to do what I planned to do today), so Courtney and I spent the morning going over designs and plant materials for around the newly expanded Child Care building.
The Sock Report: I think I'm goign to rip out the modular blue socks; I just can't stay with all the back-and-forthing on that pattern. I knit socks becuase they're knit in the round, and that makes them fast. I need to mend By's brown knotwork socks; they're the first pair I made for him, Woolease sport and #5 needles, so the gauge is loose and they've got a hole now. Maybe I'll make him another pair of socks out of the blue yarn that wants so badly to become something.
The Unsock Report: After all the ripping on the maple leaf shawl, I didn't have the heart to rip out 5" of the colorwork on the Lopi sweater. Maybe this weekend. I'm 13" into Maple Leaf Shawl 2.0 now, and much happier. Almost at a point where I have to start doing short rows to finish the points, or do another 40 rows of pattern to enlarge it. If I knit on it tonight, I'll have to decide then. I looked at the little fair-isle sheep in the new Piecework too many times this weekend; I have one started in my at-work knitting bag. Mushroom Woolese sport, and two colors of the icing-dyed yarn samples I did this summer (good use for 20-yd bits of brightly colored yarn). I think these may be Xmas presents for the wee ones on the list (and a couple of adults, too). Fun to knit, so far. I need to figure out the fox pictured in the article; no pattern given for it, but the pic is awful cute.
The rush towards the annual show is on. By's spent the last few evenings making cores for signal whips (and trying to keep the kittens from running off with his projects), and will be at least this busy from here until the beginning of Dec. Longer, if the show goes well *crosses fingers* Which I hope it does, but it does cut into my quality time with him, and I do miss that. Just my bad luck that my surge of hormone-induced friskiness coincides with his busy/distracted/creating phase. *sigh* Maybe I can talk Pet into keeping me company part of this weekend.

It's the open house for the Art Center, and, it's all Xmas music. I'll forgive you if you'd rather not *grin*
Best way to the Art Center is 7 Hwy, north through town, to Spruce, west (left) on Spruce--it's a major stoplight--for a block, north (right) on 5th for 2 1/2 blocks.....It's on the right side of the street, surrounded by big old churches. Used to be the old Carnegie Library. Parking at the curb or in back; dunno how well attended it will be.
