Have you seen this book (http://www.needleartsbookshop.com/knitting_books/Nursery_Rhyme_Knits.html)?

Hadn't seen that, it's cute.

The author/designer is actually a co-worker of mine. I love paging through the cuteness, but I don't think I'm insane enough to try any of them. My favorites, though, aren't shown on that site. It had never occured to me to write words or poems in knitting...

That's cool.

I might do something like that, if we have a kid. Maybe.

And I've through about knitting poems into socks before, just hadn't worked my way down the list of projects yet. I got the idea from a pair of sock pattern I found online years ago (which may still be out there) which had the word "peace" in hebrew and arabic all over the socks. And there's a neat pattern with a poem from Pablo Neruda spread out over both socks, in the XRX Socks book.

The Arabic "peace" socks is here (http://www.knitsnbytes.com/baraka.html), and the Hebrew version here (http://www.knitsnbytes.com/brucha-sock.html).
