Borrowed from [livejournal.com profile] metaquotes, because it's perfect

I would like all of you who enjoyed the work of Ray Charles to take one minute today, and find somewhere quiet. Close your eyes and observe a moment of blindness for Mr. Charles.

Rest in Peace, Ray.

I can support these people:

Prayes For Reason", a groups who thinks that no matter the religion, our country's policies ought to be based on "facts, history, and reasonable thought processes."

My favorite, of the prayers I've read so far:

Dear God (in all your forms), protect us from those humans among us who wish to direct the destiny of the world for their own gain. Bring them humility, compassion and enlightenment, and allow them to see the interconnection of all beings. (Or bring down upon them a rain of burning rocks, whichever strikes your fancy.)
Amen

Bead Drop Spindles

Tempting. I certainly don't need another hobby, but they're tempting.
