I must admit

...that yesterday wasn't all bad. And the rain today has vastly mellowed my mood.

So, in the not all bad category:

1) Heard from the folks in Omaha, and it looks like the food stuff for Heretic Camp will be *shock* planned ahead and organized. Not bad for a bunch of pagans that the *rest* of the crowd considers strange.

2) I bought a Sunsprite rose, cheap, and that's one of my all-time favorite roses.

3) My birthday present from By's mom arrived, and it's more string! Several balls of self-striping wool/nylon blend sock yarns (the machine washable kind!), and two of the patterns are things By would be willing to wear, which is doubly cool. And a ball of Rowan cotton tape, which is a truly weird novelty yarn, in shaded very pale pastels, and a ball of a cloud-soft, fuzzy Italian novelty yarn in screaming pink. They're both cool, but I don't think I'll use them together. By might leave me if he saw that in his living room. And two skeins of worsted weight alpaca yarn from the place she took me to at Xmas--one white, one handpainted in a rainbow sequence. I think it's time to start knitting scarves again.

Neglected to ask... does Yarn Barn sell gift certificates?

No reason. Just curious.

Never checked. But I'm sure that they do, like most outlets which cater to groups of addicts.

You all are strange, but that's why the *rest* love you! See you there!

Gee, thanks for the vote of confidence.

Hey, it takes one to know one! :)

what *is* self striping yarn? I've just spent the last 5 minutes trying to work, and my brain keeps trying to figure how the self-striping would work. This does not help one's productivity in proof-reading. :-)

And I'm sure he wouldn't leave you - not just for a yarn offense. Even one so.... fuzzy and pastel. Might look at you REALLY funny, though.

*hug*

Self-striping yarn is a variegated yarn (usually sock yarn), where the stripes have been measured so that when you knit it into a sock, the color changes line up into a pattern. Lion Brand has a line of it, Magic Stripes, I think it is, and Regia, and most of the other popular sock yarns. Kinda cool. Sometimes, I'd rather do the pattern myself, but it is nice to be lazy and let the yarn do the work.

By might leave me, if the yarn offense were grave enough. He's mentioned before that certain color combinations, if directed at him, were grounds for disciplinary action.
