Hey, [livejournal.com profile] classics_cat

Two things:

First, I finished reading that book you left me, it was way cool. Now I need to find my own copy, and the rest of the series.

Second, I finally got the last ingredient to do the shampoo bars, so I'm going to TRY to get those put together soon. The recipes all say they dry slowly, because of the higher oil content, and also they tend to be softer oils in general. If I get it done this weekend, figure they'll be ready by the end of May.

Might I inquire as to the title of the book?

I've seen shampoo bars for sale at craft fairs, and merchant booths, but have never been brave enough to try them (reminiscent of using soap on my hair as a child, and the resultant miserable detangling process) I'm interested to see how they turn out for you!

It was a Sheri Tepper trilogy, one of her early ones, all in one volume, and I can't remember the name of it at all right now....Cat, dear? Help!

Re shampoo bars: These are supposed to have anough conditioning oils in them to not have that problem. Thought they'd be more convenient for camping.

It's the True Game omnibus. I think it's called The World of the True Game or some such. It's the second trilogy. I think there are actually three. There's a Maaven (Maeven?) tril, and then these, and then a Jinian tril.

Shampoo bars yummay. :)

I got you some Free Books from the Free Book table in Cockefaire. Ranj likes his--yours are a little vintage gardening book, very cute, like a daybook or something, and an illustrated short by that idiot who wrote the Thomas Covenant books, set in the same world, and, hm. Some kind of "women's spirituality" book that I thought you might like to read just for interest. There might be something else, but I don't remember. My brain is goo.

TWO more trilogies??? Don't tell me that hon, I have way too much to do between now and Heartland. *sigh* The one you loaned me was really good, though.

Free books = good!

I completely sympathise with the brain is goo....that's a good description for my day so far, and it's not going to get any better.

"That idiot who wrote the Thomas Covenant books" - Is that based off of having met him (I hear he is pretty bad), or just off the books themselves? If the later, you might try reading some of his (unrelated) shorts. I've met enough who really liked them, despite hating T.C. to suggest it in good faith.

I, having liked Thomas Covenant, would be interested in knowing the name of what you picked up. I don't think I'm familiar with it.

I don't like the books. Anyone who thinks I'm going to want to read about someone who's established as an unrepentant rapist in the first forty pages is clearly an idiot.

It's called Gilden-Fire.
