NPR just did a little spot about the fact that President Obama brews his own beer in the White House. A honey wheat ale is his prefered recipe. I am vastly amused.

more adventures in parenting
From the "holy cow, when did they get so tall?" department......
I just got the kids dressed for a quick trip to the store. The turtle neck I depended on as a "nice" shirt for The Boy to wear out and about is almost too short in the body and sleeves. The darling purple embroidered pants I'd found for The Miss this summer are too short, but show off how slim and strong she is. She looks so very grown up this evening, and I'm having trouble adjusting to it.
On top of this morning, when I put The Miss in what used to be a calf-length dress to run around the house, and found that it almost hits the tops of her knees. Holy crap, they grow fast......
