The Sock Report
I feel a little guilty for doing so, but I went ahead and started the new aran socks last night. Starting something new is soothing. Fussing with all the ends and counting on the Swatch Your Step socks is not soothing. Anyway, I got the ribbing on the first sock done, and the first 7 pattern rows. I'll need to watch some of the cable crossings on the woven diamond parts; they get a little weird on the edges. Stitches will be crosses, and then be purled and become part of the background on the next row, rather than carrying on to do more cable things. Odd to do, but it looks good. And the first five rows, I goofed and worked the sts for the side cable into the woven diamond bits, so I had to drop all those sts and re-do it.
I'm hoping for enough rain today at work to justify a good session of knitting on the sock today.
