A weekend full of knitting, and other updates
Didn't do much this weekend...HSA meeting Sunday afternoon, sat outside talking to people we don't see often enough for hours afterwards. My main accomplishment for the weekend was finishing knitting projects.
Not sure what's been going on with the power at home--we've lost power 4 times in the past two weeks. Some of it was storm related, so that's not that big a surprise, but last night it was merely hot. Very vexing.
By's working for Robyn today--she said they'd work on the project this week until it was finished, then be done for the week: as of last night, they were 3 pieces into an 8-piece project.
My morning meeting was moved to August for reasons unexplained, and the afternoon will be shot, because the boss decided we needed another "driving safety" video. Guess there was an incident earlier in the week. Blech. Other than that, I'm puttering. A little mulching, a little pruning. I'll probably spend Fri and Sat this week watering trees. Must remember to pack more sock yarn in my purse.
We're planning a road trip this Sunday....just a day trip to the farm (in Neosho) to assess what work needs done, so By can put an estimate together for his folks. Sounds like his uncle plans to meet us there for a visit, which will be fun. Haven't seen Allan in a while.
The Sock Report: finished By's socks on Sunday. I now have three pair of socks in a pile waiting for ends to be woven in.
The UnSock Report: finished the U Can 2 shell on Sunday. Go me! Started to work on the lily of the valley shawl that evening, but the power went out, and I just couldn't see what I was working on. So, I started a hat out of Nicky Epstein's hat book to wear to T's birthday party next weekend (the theme is the Mad Hatter). Finished it Monday morning, knitted some thread leaves and pansy petals to sew on forsilly value good measure. That makes three projects finished in a weekend!! After that, I pulled a lace shawl UFO out of the box of knitting I'd taken to Heartland...I've got about 5" left on it, I think, so about 40 rounds (at 600+ sts per round). Maybe more, If I can fit more on the needle, which is a mite full. But the extra 5" will give me a finsihed blocked size of about 5' square, and that's plenty big for a shawl.
