For a stay-at-home day, we spent a lot of time in the car yesterday
Quick trip to Lawrence to take the recycling back, grab lunch at Aladdin, quick dash into Yarn Barn for another skein of orangy-red reinforcement yarn (all of $1.34...), quick dash into the grocery store in Tongie, home for a couple of hours, out to the bank and then WallyWorld for superglue, home for a couple of hours and dinner, out to pick a disc up from a friend, home again, and suddenly it's after 8pm.
Got a fair amount of knitting done, though. In the morning, when we probably should have been planning our trips better, I made serious headway on The Sweater. Between morning knitting and evening knitting, it's now 4" deep, and I'm about a quarter of the way through the second (deep) border pattern. Go me!
Took the Cabled Sweatsocks with me in the car as car-knitting. Got to the heel, got the heel turned, decided to set that aside and write down how I adjusted the heel so I'll have it to do the second sock. Need to do that today. I'm looking forward to wearing these.
Also packed a couple skeins of acrylic yarn to do another set of the Fireside socks--these are in Caron Simply Soft and Red Heart Plush, in slightly different shades of blue, very plush. Got the heel turned on the first one, which I'm rather proud of, because the last 1" or so of the leg was knitted in the car, in the dark. This set is for By, but I'm hoping I'll have enough of the yarns to do a set for myself too.
Today's agenda includes laundry, reloading the dishwasher, and puttering. Have some arty things I want to try today, we'll see if I get that far.
